Well, that depends on which alphabet you are talking about. Our Western alphabet has 26 letters.

We were probably all learning the alphabet in school, singing the letters out loud…
But perhaps, like me, you learned those letters in another country - and English is not your native tongue. I don’t know about you, but spelling letters out in a (telephone) conversation, or taking in a word spelled out loud by another person, is very hard.
This is why we need letter spelling “flash cards”.
“A as in Apple”, and so forth.
