The Internet is a great tool, with so much information available. We more and more rely on what we can find in the search engines as oppose to asking a question by phone or browsing through books. But it is all about knowing where to FIND it…
So – how do I find a phone number? Or: where can I find out who a certain (mobile, unlisted) number belongs to?
Well, in Canada I usually go to 411.ca. It both has phone search and reverse number lookup.
But the US is so much bigger than Canada. And several tools are spread over all the web. Is there a site that allows you to find it all?
I found out about ReverseMobile.com and from there you can get reverse cell phone, unlisted phone and landline records. Hundreds of millions of records. This is one of those tools that can help you a lot when searching for hard-to-find unlisted or cell phone numbers.

Or visit the ReverseMobile website.
The thing is, that the organization behind this extensive database has several other great resources as well. including court records (for background checks for instance) and email addresses (to contact friends and relatives or to report a spammer).

Nardo – interesting post and when it comes to looking for people in Canada, as you mentioned your best source is a people directory. For disclosure sake, I am the Director of Online for Yellow Pages Group and we operate Canada411.ca. What might be of interest to your readers is that Canada411.ca gets its data directly from the Telco’s so the data is very fresh. 411.ca uses the data from whitepages.ca which is operated by a Seattle based company called W3 Data.
Also, I recently did a blog post titled the Top 20 Surnames in Canada from Wikipedia using Canada411.ca. The most common surname in Canada is Li. Your readers might find it of interest. Here is the link ( I used tinyurl.com to make it smaller ) – http://tinyurl.com/5ncdka.
There are a number of databases that not only let you find names that go with certain phone numbers, but also provide additional background information. Both cell phones and landlines.
It has to be noted that this phone number lookup tool only works for phonenumbers in the USA.
This page has a YouTube video about the service too: http://bit.ly/13D435.
Thank you for that link! We arrange shipping from US to Canada and often need help finding information about US phone numbers.
And I love all the other info you get with that service!
